Hey there, CPOC Family!
The CDC has issued Guidance for Schools (see pages 42 on) that is very concerning to parents across the state, for a myriad reasons. Some counties, eg. L.A. County, are taking the CDC considerations in a questionable direction.
Please share this post to encourage others to voice their concerns.
The next two weeks are are critical in influencing our children's return-to-school environment! Copy and paste the URL in your browser and text/email/message everyone you know who can get on board.

Many families are ready to express their voice or take action and Concerned Parents of CA PAC is here to help guide you in this important and unprecedented need for activism. Below, we will provide you with 3 STEPS — substantive GUIDANCE for your emails, and WHERE to locate your district/county/school-specific contact information. (You will have to do a little sleuthing to find this info, so best to begin from your laptop!)
Please know that we are aware that this type of engagement may seem overwhelming during a time where people have finite mental and emotional bandwidth. Many families are concerned with access to food, childcare, and/or employment, and have little time to consider this, but we MUST do so if we are to influence the new learning landscape. Let’s encourage and support one another!

01. State Superintendent of Public Education
Tony Thurmond - Email him at superintendent@cde.ca.gov.
02. District Supervisor
Each county has 5 districts with a dedicated District Supervisor. Find your county-specific ".gov" website here to search for your Board of Supervisors list.(Each county has a different web interface and site map. Dependent on your address, you may have to first identify your supervisorial district and email your specific District Supervisor if no group email is provided).
03. COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT
Find who your County Superintendent is here. Some only have a phone number available, but that's okay, you can call!
04. County Health Officer
Find who your County Health Officer is here.

Email School District Administrators
Forward the policy maker email to 3-4 of your School District Administrators. You can copy and paste the email template provided directly into your message.
01. Board of Education
Search for your city's school district (eg. "Montebello Unified") here. Under the Web Address column, find your dedicated school district's website. Then, search for its Board of Education contact info. You should be able to email your entire school board.
02. superintendent
Search for your school district here (eg. "Oakland Unified") and locate your superintendent's email address.
03. School Principal/Administrator
Type your school name into the search here (eg. "Pasadena High") to locate the contact information.
